Programme Overview

Our programmes are designed for low-income women in Barking and Dagenham experiencing financial hardship, unemployment, relationship breakdown, social isolation, poor mental health or long-term health conditions. Sanctuary Wellbeing Days

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop.

Sanctuary is a nurturing day designed for a small group of women — a chance to rest, connect and be genuinely cared for. Through therapeutic massage, a guided sauna session and a shared lunch, participants experience professional wellbeing care in a warm and welcoming space.

There is no agenda, no pressure and no expectations. Just a day to breathe, be looked after and spend time with other women in a safe and peaceful environment.

Delivered by a team of accredited therapists and supported by our community navigator. Available to women referred through our partner organisations.

WANA (We Are Not Alone)

Sometimes life gets in the way. Financial pressures, relationship breakdown, isolation, low confidence — these things can build up quietly until it feels impossible to see a way forward.

We Are Not Alone is a 6-week group programme for women who are ready to take a small step. Not a giant leap — just a step. Together, in a safe and supportive space, participants explore what has been holding them back, find their voice, build confidence and begin to take ownership of their own future.

Each week focuses on one piece of the puzzle — from understanding barriers and navigating services, to building confidence and looking ahead. Every session ends with a small personal goal, and the following week begins with sharing what happened when you tried.

The programme runs as a closed group — the same women, every week, for 6 weeks. That consistency builds real trust, honesty and connection.

Facilitated by an experienced professional and supported throughout by our community navigator, who is on hand to help with benefits, local services and anything else participants may need.

Available to women referred through our partner organisations.

One To One Counselling Support

Sometimes what a person needs most is simply to be heard.

Our one-to-one counselling sessions offer a confidential, private space for women to talk openly — without judgement and without pressure. Sessions are delivered by a qualified and accredited counsellor.

Sessions are shaped around you and what you feel comfortable discussing. You can take the time you need to talk, reflect and be listened to in a safe and supportive environment.

Available to women participating in our programmes, by referral.
